When leaving your home for extended periods of time we have a checklist and suggestions for you in order to make getting on the road a little easier.
1. Empty the refrigerator/freezer of all items that will spoil
2. Turn off your ice maker
3. set thermostats to seasonal temps ( we will check this any way)
4. Turn off the breakers to your water heaters
5. Turn off pool heater
6. Take out the trash in bathrooms and kitchen.
7. Turn off the valves to the wash machine.
8. Turn off water to the home (if you have the system properly set up for irrigation and pool use)
9. Call to have the news paper held
10. Have your mail forwarded
11. Have your trash pick up suspended
12. Unplug kitchen small appliances (toasters, coffee makers, etc)
13. Set timers on lights
14. Close and lock all windows and doors.
15. Remove wet clothing from washers and dryers
16. Secure valuables from visibility
17. Beach front homes need to have exterior lights on timers for turtle watch
18. E-mail or call Absentee by the Sea Homecare, LLC in order to give them the dates of your departure and arrival to your home.
